Our
Story
It all began with the foundation of the State Financial Administration Reform Unit (RAFE) in 1998. Under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance, the e-Government (e-Gov) in Cabo Verde took its first steps to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Public Administration
  • 2023 25 Years

    Hosting of a gala celebrating NOSi’s 25th anniversary, featuring a formal ceremony to honor and present awards to leaders and employees, recognizing their contributions to the institution’s journey of transformation.    

  • 2014 Creation of NOSi, Public Business Entity (E.P.E.)

    Formalization of NOSi as a Public Business Entity, through Decree-Law No. 13/2014, strengthening its legal and institutional framework and operational capacity.

  • 2010 1st Internationalization

    NOSi’s first international experience, with the implementation of the Tourism Single Window in five provinces of Mozambique (Maputo, Cabo Delgado, Sofala, Inhambane, and Gaza), in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism of Mozambique.

  • 2008 Implementation of the Citizen's Center

    Implementation of the one-stop shop Casa do Cidadão, as both a physical and online channel for the integrated delivery of public services, with the launch of key solutions such as: Online Certificates, Company in a Day, Electronic Payments to the State, and the Porton di Nos Ilha Portal.

  • 2003 Transition to NOSi

    The unit adopts the designation NOSi – Operational Center for the Information Society, under Resolution No. 15/2003 of July 7, assuming the role of Operational Center of the Interministerial Commission for Innovation and the Information Society.

NOSi Status

In 2014, through Decree-Law No. 13/2014, the Núcleo Operacional da Sociedade de Informação (Nucleus Operational of the Information Society) was transformed into a Public Enterprise Entity, abbreviated to NOSI, E.P.E.

The changes introduced were intended primarily to consolidate the vocation embraced by NOSi in the national context, in the Digital Governance and Knowledge Society area, as well as with the pressing need to restructure its structures and organizational model, in order to provide greater agility in its operation and greater efficiency in its action, taking advantage of existing synergies and adjusting them to the mission that NOSi aims to pursue, as well as the human and financial resources available.
