NOSi hereby publicly and strongly repudiates the reckless and defamatory statements made by citizen Alex Évora during a live video broadcast on the Facebook page “Voz Di Povo,” in which he alleged that “MPD USES NOSi TO MANIPULATE DATA.” Such claims aim to misinform public opinion and create distrust within the country’s robust and credible electoral system, while damaging the good name, reputation, and nationally and internationally recognized technical independence of NOSi.

The statements made in the video, besides being irresponsible and defamatory, reveal a profound lack of knowledge regarding the country’s electoral process and the remarkable work carried out by NOSi’s professionals. Their contribution has enabled Cabo Verde to be internationally recognized and respected for its ability to manage electoral processes efficiently and transparently — delivering results almost in real time and ensuring that election outcomes are known on the same day, with security, confidence, and stability.

Given the seriousness of these public allegations, NOSi informs that the necessary legal procedures are underway to file a criminal complaint before the competent judicial authorities against Alex Évora, for making statements that are entirely slanderous and devoid of any factual basis, causing harm to the honor of NOSi’s employees and to the institution’s reputation.
