As part of the celebrations of the International Day of Girls in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), marked this year under the theme “AI for Development: Girls Shaping the Digital Future,” NOSi, in partnership with ACRIDES, hosted the event “ACRIDES Ambassadors: Exploring the Future of ICT at NOSi” on the morning of Thursday, April 23, at its premises.

The initiative was aimed at 14 ACRIDES Ambassador girls, aged between 14 and 18, who had the opportunity to experience an immersive environment of real-world technological innovation. The program included a visit to the Innovation Lab, hands-on workshops across different NOSi departments, as well as opportunities for direct interaction with the institution’s professionals.

During the visit, participants learned about some of the country’s ongoing digital transformation projects and took part in a discussion session on the theme “Women in Innovation,” led by NOSi female staff members, who shared their career paths, challenges, and experiences in the ICT sector.

Girls in ICT Day, celebrated globally on the fourth Thursday of April, aims to increase female participation in the technology sector. Through this initiative, NOSi seeks to encourage interest in technology, promote networking among women working in ICT in Cape Verde, and strengthen its institutional partnership with ACRIDES, highlighting the role of the Ambassadors as agents of leadership, awareness-raising, and knowledge sharing within their home communities.
