NOSi receives ministerial delegation from ECOWAS countries, under the Submarine Cable Project "Amilcar Cabral"
On Friday, 16 December, NOSi received at the premises of the Data Center a ministerial delegation from ECOWAS coastal countries accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and Business Development and Minister of Digital Economy, Olavo Correia, as part of the Inaugural Meeting of the Steering Committee on the Submarine Cable Project "Amilcar Cabral". The meeting provided an opportunity to learn about the operation of this facility and the country's strategy in the digital domain.
The Submarine Cable Project "Amilcar Cabral" initiative came out of the 15th meeting of ECOWAS delegates/experts and ministers of Telecommunications and Information Technologies held in Praia in October 2017. t aims to be a regional submarine cable that connects Cabo Verde directly and, in broadband, with Bissau - Conakry - Monrovia and Freetown. It will boost international capacity in the region, as it will provide the possibility to connect to the Ella Link cable, connecting Africa, Brazil and Europe.
